Good skiing

The trail set up pretty well today. It made for some very good skate skiing.

First grooming of the season

I took the Ginzu groomer around the lake this morning. With only 2 inches of snow to work with classic tracks could not be set. But please ski it anyway.

Friday night ice thickness tests. Mostly over 5" with a couple spots at 4". Good enough for my snowmobile.

Saturday morning grooming

We had about 3/4 of an inch of new snow from this week. I groomed the road this morning which should be fairly good for skating. It's still much to thin to add classic tracks.

And I groomed some corduroy into an even thinner layer of snow on the lake.

These conditions would be pretty good for November. It's not so great for January.

Pilot knob road

The road has been rolled this morning and groomed this afternoon for skate skiing. It's too thin to set tracks.  The lake shockingly still had too much slush under the snow to groom.

Snow storm?

With Tuesday's snow and tonight's snow we only have a little under 3 inches on the ground. I'd like to have a little more before running the sled on the asphalt road. And the lake's ice is too thin for grooming equipment.  Hopefully with more snow Friday and some really cold temps to follow, I can groom both places.

I was able to enjoy some ungroomed skiing on the lake tonight.
