I spent 2 1/2 hours working on the latest snowfall . The lake and road will be excellent for classic skiing today. Skating should be decent, but I do have an issue with overlap berms with this much new snow. It was 6 below zero while grooming so I think it will set up well.
Pilot Knob road
I was out this morning packing the 1" of snow we had yesterday and smoothing out the skier and walker tracks. That will help prep the base for what snow we receive today. We have a good base, so I'm really hoping for a small snowfall today! :)
It was a cold ski but the snow sure set up nicely. Had a dusting last night with more on the way.
Yesterday the road was covered with anywhere from 1/2" to 1" of frost. So I regroomed it this morning for both classic and skate skiing. I also groomed a path on the other side for snowshoers and walkers.
The road and lake in Pilot Knob have been groomed this morning for both skating and classic skiing. It might still be a little soft today but getting better with each day.
Pilot knob was rolled this morning with plans to groom it Saturday morning. I was surprised how dry the snow was expecting a wetter snow. So it will be soft for a while. I did put classic tracks around the lake so that should be good today.
